Support Initiatives For School Safety In Solidarity With Stoneman Douglas High School Students And Others Across The Country

Festival Offers 50% Off Weekend Tickets Promotion To Those Who Sign Student Petition

South Florida’s Biggest Rock Experience To Feature Performances From Ozzy Osbourne, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Stone Sour, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin & More

Saturday, April 28 & Sunday, April 29, 2018 At The Festival’s New Home In Greater Fort Lauderdale At Markham Park In Sunrise, FL

(March 7, 2018) – Following the tragic February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida, Monster Energy Fort Rock festival producers Danny Wimmer Presents and AEG Presents—along with Corey TaylorHalestorm and various other music artists performing at the April 28 & 29 festival at Markham Park in Sunrise, FL—are showing their support for the students and advocating for school safety.

To support initiatives for school safety and create awareness for efforts to promote change, the producers are offering 50% off the price of Monster Energy Fort Rock General Admission weekend tickets for those who sign the “Students Fighting Guns Since Adults Won’t” petition created by high school student Julia Kemple of Kalamazoo, Michigan—and signed by 200,000+ people across the nation—in response to the Florida shootings. www.change.org/p/students-fighting-guns-since-adults-won-t

Corey Taylor, who will perform with his band Stone Sour at the festival in April, says, “I’m absolutely behind this movement. Not only the name itself, but the reason and the cause. As a father, my one concern is my children. The fact that no one is doing anything worthwhile to change the horrendous laws and circumstances around these shootings is unacceptable. So if the adults can’t extricate themselves from the politics that are keeping them from ACTUALLY making a difference, I support the generation who will.”

The band Halestorm offered this message: “To all the students that have been affected by gun violence, and to students everywhere, YOU are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Our future is what YOU make it and the path is yours to blaze. YOU are the fire! We are proud to stand by you as we push to make this planet a better place. Love, LzzyArejayJoe and Josh of Halestorm.”

Danny Hayes, CEO of Los Angeles-based Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP), co-producers of Monster Energy Fort Rock, says that he was inspired by the collective voice of the nation’s youth and in particular the “Students Fighting Guns Since Adults Won’t” petition. “The wording of Julia’s petition is profound. We should all be ashamed that our nation’s youth feels unprotected by those in charge,” says Hayes.

Hayes continues, “As a Broward County, Florida native, the Stoneman Douglas tragedy really hit home for me. We are so deeply touched and moved by the courage and fortitude of the students at Stoneman Douglas High School. They have turned trauma into strength. As a society we must act quickly to give them the protection they deserve. Like the Woodstock generation that used music festivals to amplify their voice, these kids should be an inspiration to us all. It is incumbent on those with access to the microphone to ensure that their message is heard and acted upon.”

Michael Lang, co-producer and co-creator of Woodstock and longtime DWP friend, agrees, saying, “I am so inspired by the students of Parkland and others around the country for speaking up and not allowing the same old NRA political rhetoric and lack of action to dampen their commitment. It is this kind of long-term determination and engagement that leads to real movement. It gives me great hope for the future of our country, to know that there is this generation of young people ready to take up the fight for positive change, much as my generation did in the ’60s. I can only hope that with our support this movement will continue to grow and take up the reins not only on sensible gun control, but on the many issues that will affect their lives and the lives of everyone on the planet.”

This special Monster Energy Fort Rock promotion—created in an effort to encourage positive social change by raising awareness for this petition—will be available to future Monster Energy Fort Rock ticket buyers. For those who already purchased a ticket, the promoters ask that you still please sign this petition.

Those who would like to utilize the 50% off ticket promotion simply need to send a screenshot of their signed petition or forward their confirmation email to dh@dwpresents.com. The promotion is available through April 1, 2018, while supplies last.

The group’s 2003 landmark debut album Fallen laid the foundation; spending 43 weeks on the Billboard Top 10, the album sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and was certified 7x platinum in the U.S. Global hit “Bring Me to Life,” (reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as marking their first U.K. #1.. The equally popular “My Immortal” peaked at #7 in the U.S. and U.K., and both songs were featured in the soundtrack for the action movie Daredevil. The album produced four singles total including ” Going Under” (#5 U.S. Modern Rock, #8 U.K.) and “Everybody’s Fool” (#36 U.S. Modern Rock, #23 U.K.). Fallen is one of only eight albums in the history of the chart to spend at least a year on the Billboard Top 50, it spent 104 weeks on the Billboard 200 and is #32 on the “Greatest of All Time, Billboard 200 .” EVANESCENCE has won two GRAMMY Awards including “Best New Artist” and “Best Hard Rock Performance,” out of a total of seven career nominations. Following multiple worldwide tours, EVANESCENCE released their first live album, Anywhere But Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. Their self-titled third album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart as well as achieving the #1 slot on the following Billboard charts: Rock Albums, Digital Albums, Alternative Albums and Hard Rock Albums. After touring European festivals and shows in 2016 and early 2017, EVANESCENCE–lead singer-songwriter and pianist AMY LEE, bassist TIM MCCORD, drummer WILL HUNT, lead guitarist/backing vocalist TROY MCLAWHORN and guitarist JEN MAJURA released their fourth album and most ambitious release to date, titled SYNTHESIS. Released Fall 2017 on BMG, the band worked in the studio with producers Will Hunt and orchestra arranger and composer David Campbell. SYNTHESIS featured two new EVANESCENCE songs in addition to fan favorites re-imagined with a live orchestra and electronica. EVANESCENCE launched the“Synthesis Live” tour in North America last fall. Augmented by Synthesis producer & live electronicist, Will Hunt, cellist & composer Dave Eggar & conductor Susie Seiter, the band combines their intense live performances and timeless songwriting with a powerful live orchestra. The group truly delivered a transcendent concert experience.

ABOUT LINDSEY STIRLING:
Lindsey Stirling remains fearless enough to always dream big. In the over five years since the release of her 2012 self-titled debut, the electronic music impresario, violinist, dancer, and artist quietly and humbly became one of the 21st century’s most innovative stars by clinging to her groundbreaking vision of cinematic violin-driven electronic music. After bowing at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Dance/Electronic Album Chart, holding #1 on the Classical Album Chart for 21 consecutive weeks, and receiving a Billboard Music Award for “Top Dance/Electronic Album,” her sophomore opus Shatter Me would not only garner an RIAA Gold certification, but it would rank as the #2 Dance/Electronic Album and #1 Classical Album on Billboard’s 2015 Year-End charts. Attracting over 10 million subscribers and 2 billion-plus views on YouTube, in 2015 Forbes placed Lindsey at #4 on its yearly YouTube artists list, making her the highest-ranked female. Her headline tours would play to a cumulative audience of over 500,000 people worldwide, and her literary debut The Only Pirate at the Party—co-written with her sister Brook S. Passey—became a New York Times Bestseller.  Lindsey’s third-studio album Brave Enough, debuted at #5 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart, went on to score the #1 spot on Billboard’s year-end Top Dance/Electronic Album list and earned Stirling a 2017 Billboard Music Award for “Top Dance/Electronic Album”. Recently, Lindsey released her first ever holiday album titled Warmer in the Winter in October.  Featuring classic and original songs, the album went on to become the #1 new Christmas album of 2017, ahead of pop music heavyweights such as Gwen Stefani and Sia.  She was also the runner-up on Season 25 of ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars” with her partner Mark Ballas.   Stirling is the model of a modern independent recording artist, with a symbiotic relationship with her fans.  A motivational speaker in her spare time, Stirling uses her own story to show teenagers that you’ve got to have confidence in the very thing that makes you unique – then wait for the world to catch up.

Ann Wilson of Heart Preps New Album ‘Songs for the Living: Vol. 1’

Headlining tour dates to be followed by “Stars Align Tour” with Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers this summer

Following a year-long successful solo tour, iconic vocalist ANN WILSON of HEART is spending the early part of 2018 recording her new solo release and debut album for BMG.  Due out this summer (exact release date TBA) and with a working title of SONGS FOR THE LIVING: VOL. 1, ANN has teamed with original Heart producer Mike Flicker (Dreamboat Annie, Magazine, Little Queen, Dog and Butterfly and Bebe Le Strange, among others) for an album that will pay homage to musicians lost in the past few years.

“It’s a project very dear to me–a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years including Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Chris Cornell and Amy Winehouse to name a few,” ANN explains. “I feel these souls have made a real, lasting contribution to the art of the popular song and to honor them is my deepest pleasure.”

The album will feature some of the singer’s favorite musicians, with the full track list to be announced in the coming weeks.  With the recording still in progress in Los Angeles, the first three songs confirmed are Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me,” Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” and The Eagles’ “Life in the Fast Lane” in honor of Glenn Frey.

“Once again I am pushing my limits as a singer and it is thrilling work,” ANN says.  “It’s my way of showing gratitude for these amazing expressions in words and music. This record was made in the old school way…on an actual tape recorder, so the sound is vibrant, present and powerful. This sound will not just massage the listener’s ego, it will stoke their heart and soul.”

Following a handful of solo headlining tour dates this spring, WILSON will join Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers for the “Stars Align Tour,” as the album is released. Kicking off July 18 in West Valley City, Utah, the tour stops in 19 cities across the U.S. and Canada including Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Toronto and Nashville, before wrapping August 26 in Tampa.  At these upcoming shows, ANN’s fans can expect to hear an assortment of Heart hits, along with tracks from her solo career.

“I am thrilled to have been asked to perform on the ‘Stars Align Tour’ with Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers,” shares ANN. “They are both long-time favorites of mine! They are masters at their craft and it is an honor to share the stage this summer.”

Somo + Caye + Kid Quill

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text]

Detroit, Michigan (March 3, 2018)SoMo, accompanied by special guests, Caye and Kid Quill, amazed the crowd tonight with impeccable performances at Saint Andrew’s Hall in downtown Detroit, Michigan.

The show began with Kid Quill, also known as Mitchell Quilleon Brown. He first gained a following after the release of his debut album, Ear to Ear, in June 2014, that charted in the Top 40 iTunes Hip-Hop/ Rap charts. Kid Quill released his first studio album, The Name Above the Title, in October 2016 which made it to the top ten on iTunes Hip-Hop charts. In September 2017 he released his second studio album, 94.3 The Reel, which also landed in iTunes top ten. The crowd was far beyond excited for the show to begin; once he took the stage everyone screamed so loud one could lose their hearing. His set included a crowd favorite “The Opener” and a special song, “White Shoes”, dedicated to his mom, who was there at the show. By the end of his set, everyone was so intrigued and loved him so much they began chanting for an encore, wanting more!

Next up was Caye. The alternative/indie artist gained fame after the release of his single, “Coma” featuring Anibal, in 2015 with over 3.6 million plays on Spotify. Once Caye got on stage, the crowd had so much energy that they couldn’t contain their screaming and singing to songs, whether they knew the lyrics or not. Everyone was mesmerized by his smooth verses and the sound of the steel pan. His set included his single “Top Shelf” and his single “With U”.

Finally, the man everyone has been waiting for! SoMo, also known as Joseph Anthony Somers- Morales, began gaining recognition in 2011 on YouTube, releasing original music and renditions of popular songs. In January 2014, SoMo released his self-titled album which debuted at number six on the Billboard 200. In September 2015, he released his second album My Life ll. In March 2017, he released his third album The Answers. And most recently, in September 2017, he released My Life lll. The R&B singer has been selling out shows all across the United States since. Throughout his entire set, the crowd couldn’t help but sing every word to every song, including some of his biggest hits, “Ride” and “Hide & Freak” featuring Trey Songz. He also sang some fan favorites like, “Just a Man” and “Dial”. The crowd consisted of teens to adults, men to women, all singing, dancing, and cheering with a smile on their face. A show no R&B fan wanted to miss!

New York, NY (March 1, 2018) – Grammy Award winner Ray LaMontagne is set to release his seventh studio album, Part Of The Light on May 18th via RCA Records.  The album was written and produced by Ray LaMontagne and will feature the first single, “Such A Simple Thing.” Fans that pre-order the album through Ray’s website will be able to stream a live version of the song before its release.

In addition, LaMontagne announces his 2018 Part Of The Light Summer Tour.  The 31-date tour will start at Sasquatch in George, Washington on May 27th and end on July 10th in Denver, CO. Joining LaMontagne on the road will be very special guest Neko Case.  Starting today at 2:00 PM ET through Sunday, March 4th 10:00 PM local time, fans who pre-order the new album on Ray’s website will be given a code on Monday, March 5th to purchase tickets to the tour early.  Tickets to the general public will be available starting Friday, March 9th 10:00 AM local time at www.raylamontagne.com, LiveNation.com or the Live Nation App.

Each release from his catalogue over the last 13 years carries its own character and feel. Having worked with producers Ethan Johns, Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Ray’s vast sonic catalogue has been called everything from “a perfect throwback to the lost art of the album-length format,” from Entertainment Weekly to “epic and magical,” from Rolling Stone and “gorgeous and ambitious,” from Esquire.  NPR’s All Things Considered said that Ray throughout the course of his career “has continued to push himself in different directions,” while People called Ray a “marvel of nature.”
