I work: I work as a teacher and a photographer.

I enjoy: I enjoy/LOVE capturing the moments when people are at their most raw. Small moments when people are less guarded backstage or when they are entirely “in the zone” on stage. In music photography, that is what I thrive on.

Goals/Dreams: My goal is to continue to learn and grow as a photographer and live life to the fullest (and keep corny phrases in my life)

Niche:
Tell us about your style, and what you contribute to Splice that makes you unique
My love of photography has always been a documentary style shoot. Capturing the moment and making it larger than life. It’s my joy to share music and concerts in a visual way.

Splice (Bucket) List: I’ve happily been checking off my bucket list (Backstage photos with Dave Grohl in a teeny venue was a fun one.) Somehow though, I have still missed out on Jack White and Thom York, so they are up at the top of my list.

Guilty Pleasures: Aw! I don’t believe in guilty pleasures! Especially in music! If you like a band, a song or a genre, own it! Guilt-free! Sing it at the top of your lungs with the car windows rolled down!

The first album I ever owned was: Spice girls? Or Nirvana. I’m not sure

If I could have attended any concert in history, I’d go back in time and see: I once visited the theater where Mozart used to premiere his music… I’d go to one of his. That might be weird, but I’m ok with that.

What was the first concert you photographed? Snoop Dogg and Lauryn Hill with Wu Tang Clan

If you could photograph any concert in history, what would it be? The Beatles

What was the first concert you reviewed? The Street Drum Corps

What was your favorite interview? Nikki Sixx. We went over time because we talked about photography for too long. Nice guy.

My favorite book is: The Divingbell and the Butterfly

My most treasured possession is: My lovely old film cameras. They are as old as 1910’s (but that one is impossible to find film for. The ones from the 50’s on, I shoot with in my spare time)

When you’re not photographing great concerts, writing about them, interviewing artists, doing album reviews… what can we find you doing? Still taking pictures, entertaining my mini hyena looking puppy, and traveling! Along with music photography, I am working on travel photography and my travel bucket list is much more extensive than my list of places I have been. Prague was 2017, in 2018 I drove from Los Angeles to Nashville. We’ll see where I manage to get to next!
